Meddbase Improvements | June 2023

This month Meddbase has some updates to improve Session Templating, Xero and our Import layer and Reporting.

We'll be releasing the next update to your Meddbase system on Monday 26th of June at 22:30 GMT for our UK and EU customers, and on Tuesday 27th of June at 02:00 CST for our US and Canadian customers.

IMPROVEMENTS

Session Templating

Session Templating has got better! You now have the ability to control how sessions behave in relation to the clinician's default site. You can choose if a session should dynamically adjust to use the clinician's default site, or if a specific site should be chosen when creating the sessions. This improvement helps you organise appointments easily and gives you more choices when making session plans, making it easier and simpler to keep track of everything.

Session Creation ‘Allow Appointment Types’ Drop Down

Now when you’re setting up sessions it is much easier to choose the type of appointments you want. Instead of scrolling through a long list Meddbase will automatically suggest options as you start typing. We’ve also made it much faster to select multiple types of appointments so you can get things done quickly.

XERO INTEGRATION IMPROVEMENTS

Our ongoing Xero (to Hero!) Integration Improvements. This month we are introducing:

Enhanced Shortfalling

We made things better when dealing with money owed using Xero. Now, if you part pay and then shortfall, the credit note will be split automatically - this lets us do shortfalls when previously Xero would have rejected the message. It helps keep everything organised and ensure accurate billing.

Improved Error Messages

We have made some significant improvements to our error-reporting messages when something went wrong sending an invoice or payment to Xero. Now you will see more helpful information about what Xero is saying about the problem, giving a better understanding of the issue and providing an opportunity to resolve the problem more effectively.

Fixed issue with sending invoices with many billing items

We have resolved a problem that sometimes occurred when trying to send invoices with a large number of billing items. Previously the integration would sometimes fail causing difficulties. With our fix, your experience should be faster, stress-free, and without any issues.

IMPORT LAYER & REPORTING ENHANCEMENTS

These improvements streamline the import process, enhance data accuracy, and offer a more user-friendly experience.

Import Layer Improvements

We've made some user-friendly improvements to how you import external identification information.

You will now be able to see the Identifier ID for improved clarity and data management.
We've made the schema description easier to understand and more user-friendly
We've resolved a rare issue where certain types of mismatches in entity types would not be detected during the validation process

And..

Added support for creating departments and establishing relationships between them, such as parent and child connections
Correctly categorised the parent department as optional rather than mandatory when importing departments
Fixed a rare issue where departments could still be created even if there were validation errors during the import process

Reporting Layer Enhancements

You can now find out when absences were last updated in your reports. This helps you keep track of the most recent changes to absences
You'll now have the ability to report on ıf a charge band ıs for patients or for a company so you can find out quickly which charge bands you're using
We also have made it easier to report on billing items where appointments have been missed. Now you can see the charges linked to the appointments that were missed, helping you get more information
