Meddbase Improvements | July 2023

Hello,

This month our release is packed full of updates to increase your control, flexibility, and security.

We'll be releasing the next update to your Meddbase system on Monday 31st of July at 22:30 GMT for our UK and EU customers, and on Tuesday 1st August at 02:00 CST for our US and Canadian customers.

Session Management - Enhanced Appointment Type Selection and Management

In addition to our handy free text auto complete feature you can now select multiple appointment types simultaneously, making it easier to manage different types of sessions, saving you time and effort.

Enhanced Security with Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for the Patient Portal

To make the patient portal even more secure we now have an opt-in feature for a standard 2FA process; patients will receive an SMS containing their 2FA code when logging into the portal if the feature is enabled.

OH Portal Department Modification Permission

When temporary access to managers is granted on the OH Portal you can now choose if the manager can update and change departments of employees outside of their own, if necessary. This gives more control and flexibility over which actions managers can take.

New Login Page

As our first step to a new login page we've made a few design tweaks to make the login box clearer.  

Refunds Revamp

You now have more control over refund behaviour. When a refund is recorded in Meddbase, Xero can accurately reflect the invoice state.

Refunds can also be processed directly from an invoice, eliminating the need for the previous 'negative payments' model. It's now simpler and more intuitive.

Xero Duplicate Service Code Management

To help you manage duplicate service codes effectively we’ve added some additional configuration options when setting a Xero Service Code against a service in Meddbase. This ensures the services in Meddbase accurately match Xero, eliminating discrepancies.

Unified VAT Handling for Fee-Splitting Invoices

We’ve added some options that provide control over whether invoices generated for ‘fee splits’ charge VAT if an appointment type associated with the split also charges VAT. This ensures that VAT is appropriately applied, aligning the behaviour of both systems and adding a layer of consistency.
