Taking a Screenshot on Windows PC


The below instructions guide you on how to take screenshots when using a Windows OS/PC .

Using Print Screen (PrtScn) Key on your Keyboard:

  • Press the PrtScn key. This captures the entire screen and copies it to the clipboard.
  • Open an image editor (like Paint), paste the screenshot (Ctrl + V), and save the file.

Using Snipping Tool or Snip & Sketch: 

  • Open the Snipping Tool or Snip & Sketch application from the Start menu.
  • Click New and select the area you want to capture.
  • Save the screenshot.

Using Windows + Shift + S:

  • Press Windows + Shift + S. Your screen will dim, and you can select the area to capture.
  • The screenshot is copied to the clipboard. Paste it into an image editor to save.

Taking a Screenshot on Mac


The below instructions guide you on how to take screenshots when using Mac OS.

Capture Entire Screen:

  • Press Command + Shift + 3.
  • The screenshot is saved to your desktop.

Capture Selected Portion:

  • Press Command + Shift + 4. Drag to select the area you want to capture.
  • The screenshot is saved to your desktop.

Capture a Window:

  • Press Command + Shift + 4, then press the Spacebar. Click the window you want to capture.
  • The screenshot is saved to your desktop.
