What is the purpose of the article?
This article describes some popular scenarios for clients and how Meddbase users can configure their T&C's options to suit their needs.
It is a companion to the article How to set up Terms & Conditions in Meddbase and the Patient Portal.
Scenario 1: A Meddbase-user registers a patient. The patient is added to an online charge band.
The Meddbase user registers a patient on Meddbase.
They add the patient to the Online Chargeband.
Two options for T&C acceptence:
Option 1: When registering the patient the Meddbase user will read/show the new patient the T&Cs and tick the acceptance box on behalf of the patient. This action will be logged in the Activity Log.
Option 2: Skip the T&Cs in the app and the patient can accept the T&Cs in the Patient Portal.
For these two options to be available you must have the following configuration.
1. Go to Start Page > Admin > Configuration > Consent > Terms & Conditions
2. Terms & Conditions are required ticked and T&Cs text in the Text box
3. Press Save
4. Then go to Online Portal on the left-hand menu > Terms & Conditions
5. Tick Force terms and conditions tickbox
6. Click Save
Scenario 2: Meddbase user registers patient the patient obtains sign up code to register
The Meddbase user does not register a patient on Meddbase. Instead, the new patient receives an invite code that they can use to register themselves on the Patient Portal.
Two options for T&C acceptence:
Option 1: Accept the T&Cs in the Patient Portal. Note: if the T&C's are not accepted here the patient cannot go further onto the Patient Portal.
Option 2: When the Meddbase user is next talking to the patient they can read/show the new patient the T&Cs and tick the acceptance box on behalf of the patient. This action will be logged in the Activity Log.
For these two options to be available you must have the following configuration:
1. Go to Start Page > Admin > Configuration > Consent > Terms & Conditions
2. Terms & Conditions are required ticked and T&Cs text in the Text box
3. Press Save
4. Then go to Online Portal on the left-hand menu > Terms & Conditions
5. Tick Force terms and conditions tickbox
6. Click Save
Scenario 3: Re-acceptance of T&Cs that have been forced and pre-existing portal user logs in.
The patient has previously accepted the T&Cs, either via the Patient Portal or the Meddbase app.
The Meddbase user has updated the T&Cs text and needs all patients, who have access to the Patient Portal, to accept the T&Cs again.
For this option to be available you must have the following configuration:
1. Go to Start Page > Admin > Configuration > Online Portal > Terms & Conditions
2. Tick Force terms and conditions tickbox
3. Click Save
