Hello

This month’s release is packed with updates to help you work smarter and more efficiently.

If something sounds useful but you're not quite sure how to make the most of it, just raise a support ticket and select the “Request Training” option. We’re here to help.

New Feature: Smarter More Personalised Appointments

Now Live! A powerful new way to tailor appointments using Services and Attendees.

We’ve made it easier to customise appointment types based on each patient’s unique needs, automatically assigning the right clinicians and services at the right time.

What’s New?
You can now configure appointment types with:

  • Specific services — automatically linked to bookings

  • Defined attendees — with roles, specialisms, and timings

  • Patient eligibility rules — such as sex or age

This means no more workarounds or duplicate templates. Just create one appointment type with everything built in, giving patients a more relevant experience and making bookings simpler for staff.

Why It Matters:
This update is designed for real-world flexibility:

  • Build appointments that vary by patient type or condition

  • Set service-specific eligibility to avoid errors at booking

  • Ensure the right clinicians are allocated to each part of a session

This gives you the tools to personalise care without adding admin overhead.

Want to try it out? Currently this feature needs to be turned on by Meddbase. If you would like it enabled please contact your account manager or raise a support ticket to get started.

Once It's Switched On:

  • Head to Admin > Appointment Admin

  • Edit or create an appointment type

  • Use the new ‘Services & Attendees’ and ‘Patient Eligibility’ tabs to customise

  • These options are available for all appointment types once enabled

Appointments created this way behave just like modules, including billing logic, but with easier setup and better control.

New: Full Patient Field History at a Glance

We’ve improved how field history is displayed in clinical forms, so clinicians can now get a more complete picture without digging around.

What’s New?
Previously, when opening a clinical form during a consultation, field history only showed updates from the current episode, making it tricky to see what had changed over time.

Now, if you have Field History turned on you’ll see:

  • A chronological list of changes from the current episode
  • A separate, grouped view showing updates from all previous episodes
This makes it easier to track patterns, compare changes, and provide informed care, all in one place.

Where to Find It
Simply open a clinical form during a consultation. Field history is shown, with episode-by-episode grouping built in.

This gives you a fuller picture of the patient’s record across consultations, helping you make more informed decisions with better historical context.

New: More Service Data in the Report Builder

We've added two new columns to help you report with clarity and control.

We’ve added Service Safe Name and Service Admin Notes to the Services root table in Report Builder, giving you more of the detail you need, right where you need it.

What’s New?
You can now include:

  1. Service Safe Name – a clean, consistent identifier for use in exports and integrations
  2. Service Admin Notes – internal notes to give context during analysis
These fields give you more control and visibility when building custom reports, helping you get the data that matters, faster.

New: Smarter Clinician Availability Checks Across Sites

In response to customer feedback we’ve introduced a new setting that improves how clinician availability is checked when creating sessions at different sites, helping you avoid conflicts before they happen.

What’s New?
Until now, the system only flagged overlapping sessions if they were at the same site. That meant clinicians could still be double booked across sites, even when they weren’t actually available.

Now, you can:

  • Enable cross-site conflict checks for clinician sessions
  • Automatically detect and prevent overlapping sessions across all sites
  • Ensure availability is respected across your full service footprint

Why It Matters:
This change helps prevent scheduling conflicts where a clinician is unknowingly booked in two places at once, no matter the location.

This feature is off by default, if you would like it switched on please contact your account manager or raise a support ticket.

Fix: Bookings Now Work After Periodic Renew Ends

We’ve resolved an issue that was preventing users from booking services once a credit rule’s periodic renew period had ended, even when a valid price list was in place.

What’s Fixed?
If a credit rule had expired, the system previously blocked bookings, even when the relevant price list had ‘Provide Services’ ticked.

Now, as long as the price list allows it, services can be booked without interruption.

Fix: Episode Prescriptions Now Display Correctly in Documents

No more missing data when generating documents from an episode.

We’ve fixed an issue where documents using the {Episode.Prescriptions} template code didn’t include the correct prescription list, even when triggered directly from an episode.

What’s Fixed?
Now, when you generate a document from within an episode:

  • All prescriptions linked to that episode are correctly shown
  • {Episode.Prescriptions} works exactly as expected
  • No need for manual workarounds or data checks

New: "Appointment Type" Column on Pathology Results Worklist

More context at a glance, right where you need it.

We’ve added a new Appointment Type column to the Pathology Results worklist, making it easier to understand the context behind each pathology request.

What’s New?

  • The new column sits between Site and Updated
  • It displays the first 25 characters of the appointment type
  • Hover to see the full appointment type in a tooltip

This small but powerful update gives you quicker insights without needing to open each result.

Coming Soon: Clinical Safety and Experience Improvements

On Tuesday 27th May, we’ll enable the SNOMED Review Screen by default for all clients that use prescribing. This is part of a wider project and system changes that we have planned over the next 12 months to improve clinical safety.

Why it’s important:
The SNOMED Review Screen gives clinicians better visibility and control over the coded data recorded during consultations. It plays a key role in safer prescribing, allowing users to review, confirm, or remove SNOMED concepts as needed, reducing the risk of outdated or incorrect codes triggering prescribing alerts and clinical decision support, ensuring that prescribing guidance reflects the most accurate clinical picture.

Feature Flag Removal: Attendee Replacement

Launched Last Month! Check out the April release notes here

We’ve introduced a powerful new way to reassign clinicians to appointments — even for complex, multi-part sessions. Whether you're booking or rescheduling, the new Attendee Replacement feature helps you make changes with confidence.

What’s New?

The feature includes a built-in wizard that filters eligible clinicians based on:

  • Real-time availability

  • Existing booking rules

  • Clinician qualifications

Only suitable, available clinicians are shown, reducing manual effort and minimising scheduling errors.

What’s Next?
Currently, this feature is behind a feature flag.
We plan to remove the flag in our Tuesday 27th May release, making it available to everyone by default.

Want to Enable It Now?
No problem! Simply contact your Account Manager or raise a ticket with Support.

Coming Soon: Editable Pre-Filled Notes in Clinical Forms

More flexibility without losing the power of pre-filled content.

Soon, clinicians will be able to edit pre-filled notes in clinical forms when they’re generated using a binding, giving them more control to personalise content when needed.

What’s New?
This update supports scenarios where standard notes need a clinical tweak. For example, adjusting BMI commentary based on a patient’s body fat percentage or clinical judgement.

Here’s what’s changing:
  • Pre-filled notes from bindings can now be manually overridden
  • Users can switch between preset options or make small edits
A new design includes:
  • An icon to show if a field is calculated or overridden
  • A toggle to switch between Override and Recalculate
It’s the best of both worlds — the efficiency of pre-filled content, with the flexibility to adapt to each patient.
