New Security Permissions Coming Soon: Document Access Control
We’re introducing new security permissions, giving System Administrators more flexibility in managing document access. You can now control who can view and modify documents separately from medical record access.
What’s Changing? Previously, document access was tied to View/Modify Patient Medical Record permissions. Now, document access is managed independently:
-
View Documents – Allows users to view documents without modifying them or accessing the full medical record.
-
Modify Documents – Allows users to modify documents but does not grant access to the full medical record.
New Permissions
- Medical Certificates – View Documents
- Medical Certificates – Modify Documents
- Patient Certificates – View Documents
- Patient Certificates – Modify Documents
What This Means for You These permissions go live on 24th February, but there’s no immediate change—everything will work as it does today.
From 24th February System Administrators will be able to:
- Grant document access without medical record access.
- Restrict document access by turning off View/Modify Documents
Key Notes
-
Modify permissions require View permissions in most cases.
- Organisations can create multiple Document Certificates to customise access levels across teams.
This update improves security and flexibility, ensuring users can access only the documents they need while maintaining strict control over medical records.
